Cookover Number 2!

Saturday morning at 8am, i woke up and normally i would hate it that i'm waking up that early on a weekend, but it was good, felt a little faint at the start that i could collapse back to bed initially but after that i went to tamp NTUC with a relatively good mood.

Melissa came on time (amazingly enough) but of course she didn't sleep much last night with her business and all, then May Fen, chilled for a while then we headed down and walk through the aisle with fresh produce on both sides, fantastic. With each of us having one dish to make, we all knew what we wanted so here goes:

Chee Han: he thought it was a great idea to do Chicken Fried Steak, which i thought was chicken, turned out to be beef... it sounds like a very bad idea to deep fry a piece of steak to me, so switched to 2 chicken 2 beef. He also had a sauce that from the recipe didn't look good but to him looks great on the recipe video, also warned him but he wanted to try.

May Fen: Steamed Prawns with Hua Diao Jiu, sounds simple enough but she didn't remove the vein or what i call shit sack, fresh prawns with gritty bits of shit with each bite... it was good but kinna wished she had taken it out, but it was good.

Melissa: Desert, but while we were about halfway done with shopping she didn't know what she wanted to do, but she did Jelly with Fresh Berries finished with Sorbet Ice-cream, her dish prob had the least amount of work but it turned out quite well actually, just kinna wished the ice-cream was frozen not watery.

Me: Sides, Creamy Mash Potatoes with spring onions and chives and stir-fried asparagus. I took for granted that i had oyster sauce and halfway while sauteing i realised i didn't... so faster improvised with some rice wine, light soya sauce and basic seasoning. Didn't like the asparagus but they did... lucky me.

So we hanged around my room, talked and i absolutely loved it, food and conversation and trying to get Chee Han to stay awake. Afterward, all of us left the house, CH and MF went to Saitex, Melissa and myself went to flag a cab.

While we're heading to the main road, she accompanied me to NTUC, talked while looking for some snacks, then we gradually slipped into the talking zone, so i suggested we grab some coffee before she head to work. A double shot espresso for her, cafe mocha for me, and we chat and chat and chat, it was fantastic that we could go on and on, and we ended up chatting for like an hour plus but sadly she had to go to work, it's just lovely and i hope we could do that again.

Overall, had lots of fun, enjoyed the talking, especially the last part.
